Ingredients of Rhubarb Compote
- You need 1 kg of fresh rhubarb.
- It's 1 cup of sugar.
- It's 1 of thumb size piece of fresh ginger.
Rhubarb Compote step by step
- Wash the rhubarb and trim the ends.
- Cut the rhubarb into 1 cm slices.
- Place the slices into a pot and add the sugar to it. Let it rest for about 15 minutes so that the sugar releases the juice of the rhubarb.
- Peel and grate the ginger and set aside.
- Heat the rhubarb sugar mixture until it summers for 5-7 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the ginger.
- Enjoy it either on it's own as a dessert or use as a topping over creamy items such as yoghurt or ice cream.
