Ingredients of Black Forest Cake

  1. It's 1 box of Chocolate cake mix.
  2. It's 1 box of Chocolate pudding (large box).
  3. It's 1 can of Cherry pie filling (21oz).
  4. You need 8 oz of Cool whip.

Black Forest Cake step by step

  1. Make cake as instructed on box (fyi- I use milk instead of water) and bake.
  2. Meanwhile prepare pudding as directed on box and chill while cake is baking/cooling.
  3. When cake is done baking cut into squares and begin layering in your trifle bowl. Layer 1- cake Layer 2- pudding Layer 3- cherries (I usually just put the cherries around the sides of the bowl because I don't really love too much of that canned cherry flavor. If you do and you want to use an entire layer of cherries make sure you have 2 cans) Layer 4- cool whip Start over til you reach the top of the bowl and decorate as you wish :).
  4. Chill for 4+ hours.
